Today, Sunday August 16 - Jehovah-Nissi, The Lord is our Banner! God wants us to enjoy living the victorious Christian life! Over my years of ministry, I've found that the most miserable people in the world are not those who have no idea what it is to be a follower of Jesus as a believer, but it those who claim to be Christians but have never learned how to put on the whole armor of God. They desperately want to do better but are being constantly pulled down by past sins, bad habits, addictions and false philosophies. The first step in dealing with these things is to accept the reality of spiritual attack. Amalek attacked Israel where they were the weakest. The Bible teaches us in Ephesians 6:10-13 "Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm."
