Today, Wednesday August 5 - Jehovah-Rapha, The LORD Who Heals! Just shortly before I made this Pastor's Chat, I received a phone call informing me that one of my dear friends just went to be with the Lord very unexpectedly. His name is Clarence Leonard. He and his wife Marie are members of Rainbow Forest and are also close neighbors of mine. I love telling everyone, that Clarence and I share grandchildren. His granddaughter, Crystal is my daughter-in-law. So, he is the great-grandfather to three of my grandchildren. He had surgery yesterday and was doing fine this morning but it sounds like his heart just gave out and he passed very suddenly.
So on this chat, I wanted to take a moment to talk about his great faith and wonderful life and how he blessed so many people. He was 88 years old and knew the risk of his surgery for a hip replacement but he shared with me that he was in God's hands and was ready to go when it was his time! Well, yesterday he met Jehovah-Rapha face to face and received the ultimate healing! Clarence is in the place where the scripture tells us, "Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away." (Revelation 21:3-4) God bless!
