Today, Wednesday September 2 - Psalm 23, Jehovah-Rohi, The LORD is my Shepherd! One last look at this wonderful and comforting Psalm of David written in his golden years after a lifetime of experiencing Jehovah taking care of him. In verse 5 we read how the Good Shepherd prepares a table for us in the presence of our enemies. This could mean a lot of things, but one application would be that the LORD has prepared and set a table of spiritual food for us in His Word and in times of communion and prayer. But we have to get through some enemies of sloth and distractions to get to it. We definitely live in a world today surrounded by the "weapons of mass distractions." Only by God's grace, and discipline on our part, can we sit at this table and be spiritually nourished! Today the LORD has anointed us with His Holy Spirit and our lives will run over fountains of living water, if we can get through the enemies around us to partake of Him. And, surely, His Goodness and Mercy will be there for us, to pick us up, when we falter and fail! God bless!
