Today, Thursday September 3 - Jehovah-Sabaoth, The LORD of Host! For the next several days we will have the opportunity to meet and know God by this name, Jehovah-Sabaoth! Interestingly, this name of God is not found in the Pentateuch, Joshua or Judges, the first seven books of the Bible. It is first found in 1 Samuel 1:3. The book of Samuel is a transitional book, especially in terms of the leadership of Israel. Now, Israel would have a king with an army to protect and fight for them. But they needed to be reminded that Jehovah is still the ONE who had a greater army who would lead them to victory! Sadly, Israel was more willing to put their trust in a king they could physically see rather than the great and awesome Jehovah! Jehovah-Sabaoth is the God of angelic host who always carries out His will! The LORD of Host is ready to help you today in whatever difficulty or circumstance you find yourself in! "The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous runs into it and is safe." (Proverbs 18:10) Trust Him today and God bless!
