Today, Tuesday August 25 - Jehovah-Shalom, The LORD is Peace! The very fact that peace is being sought or needed is because there is a conflict. There is something that is dividing us from someone else. There is strife and communication is either difficult with that person or not taking place at all. The loss of peace can actually be a good thing if we respond to it the right way, that is, to seek to be reconciled to the other party. The Bible teaches that we were born separated from God because we were born with a sinful nature. Colossians 1:21 "And you, who once were alienated and hostile or enemies in your minds, doing evil deeds." But thank God for the next verse 22, "God has now reconciled in his body of flesh by His death, in order to present you holy and blameless and above reproach before Him..." There is nothing more wonderful than this peace of God that comes because of the blood of His cross. (Colossians 1:20) God bless!
