Today, Tuesday September 8 - Jehovah-Tsidkenu, The LORD our Righteousness! Jeremiah, the weeping prophet, proclaimed Jehovah's message of judgment upon the Southern Kingdom of Judah. The people had forsaken Jehovah and now He was going to forsake them. But in the middle of this pronouncement, God revealed Himself to them by a new name, Jehovah-Tsidkenu, The LORD our Righteousness! To experience God by this name, we must first realize our desperate situation. We have sinned and there is no exemption from the curse of sin! There is no way to escape the condemnation and consequences of our sin, our disobedience to a Holy God. But it is when we sense the load and guilt and burden and weight of our sin, that Jehovah will show up and declare to us Jesus Christ! And if we trust Him and what He has done for us, He becomes our Righteousness before a Holy God! (2 Corinthians 5:21) God bless!
