Description

Today, Monday October 19 - As I look back over the 49 years of my Christian life, I truly wish that I would have spent more time engaging myself in the two spiritual disciplines of reading, studying, memorizing and meditating on God's Word, and praying.  Someone said, "We live in the day of the weapons of mass distractions."  Oswald Chambers in his devotionals often reminds us that, "The need does not constitute the call to an area of ministry."  But for sure, the needs I have in my life can definitely be a call and motivation to seek and ask God to meet those needs.  God created us as needy creatures.  In the pattern of prayer, that Jesus taught to pray, we are told to ask, "Give us this day our daily bread..." I believe that bread here is not just the physical bread that we might eat to sustain our lives, but every need we might have on a daily basis.  This aspect of prayer is acknowledging that God is the source of meeting, especially those basic needs.  I depend on God everyday to supply me with strength, courage, wisdom, discipline, guidance, creativity, and to accomplish my daily task so that I might have food to eat, and shelter and clothing for myself and my family!  Trust Him today!  God bless!!!!
