Description

Today, Saturday October 10 - In Luke 11:1, the disciples of Jesus ask Him to teach them to pray as John taught his disciples.  And Jesus responded with a powerful lesson on the various aspects and principles of prayer.  So for sure, pray can be taught and learned. But over the years, I've become convinced that prayer is more "caught" than "taught."  The disciples were motivated to pray and ask the Lord this question after they were in His presence as He was praying.  In Luke 3:21-22 we read when Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist and He came up out of the water, "as He was praying the Spirit came upon Him like a dove and voice came out of heaven, "You are beloved Son in whom I am well pleased."  Jesus began His ministry with prayer and the Father was pleased!

The very day I begin these chats on prayer, I received a package in the mail and in it was a brand new book written by my friend and mentor, Dr. Elmer Towns.  The title of this new book is "Praying With Jesus." As soon as it is released to the public, I would encourage you to purchase it!  May our heavenly Father be pleased with us as we pray!  God bless!
