Psalm 107:23-28

23 Those who go down to the
sea in ships, Who do business on great waters,

24 They see the works of the
LORD, And His wonders in the deep.

25 For He commands and raises
the stormy wind, Which lifts up the waves of the sea.

26 They mount up to the
heavens, They go down again to the depths; Their soul melts because of trouble.
27 They reel to and fro, and
stagger like a drunken man, And are at their wits' end.

28 Then they cry out to the
LORD in their trouble, And He brings them out of their distresses.

Today I am back in Sneads
Ferry and able to do at least one Pastor’s Chat and give an update on Luke.
First thank you for all your prayers in all our travels this past week from North
Carolina to Florida, from Florida to Virginia, and yesterday from Virginia back
to North Carolina. Edith stayed in Roanoke to be with Kimberly, Chris and Luke.

As you probably already know, about
a week ago Luke had the shunt surgically removed from his brain, and also the
drain tube that went down to his intestine because of an infection in it. Luke
is scheduled to have surgery this morning at 9am to replace a new shunt and
drain line. This is a very difficult surgery because of his size and how everything
must be placed. But we have a great team of doctors and nurses who will be doing
this surgery. Also, we have hundreds of dear friends like you praying for Luke
and we sure covet your prayers for him this morning! We will keep you updated
later today.

I thought it was so
appropriate that these are the next verses in Psalm 107. Sometimes in life we
feel like we have come to “wit’s end corner”! All hope is lost and all we can
do is look up! But again in this situation, when “we cry out to the LORD in our
trouble, He hears and brings us out and of our distresses”.

Today, our Great Savior and
LORD is still gathering His redeemed from the east, the west, the north and the
south to come and worship Him! I trust you are hearing His voice and responding
to His invitation “to come to Him” for the needed rest and hope that you can only
find in His salvation and strength!

And please continue to pray
for Luke today! And for traveling mercies for me this afternoon, as I will be
traveling back to Roanoke Va after preaching in our morning service at Friendly
Community Church in Burgaw NC.

God bless!
