Today, Monday October 5 - The Reward of Discipline is Freedom!  Freedom to live, to love, to give, to serve, to achieve, to live a life of significance that blesses others and impacts eternity!  One of the major underlying issues that plague our country today, is laziness!  Lack of self discipline.  We want a job and a paycheck, but we don't want to work!  And if we are not careful, we can get lazy, slothful in our spiritual life as well!  We find ourselves wanting to only engage in those activities that give us a cozy, warm, good feeling rather than those activities that cost us something.  Today I want to encourage you to practice the spiritual discipline of prayer as Paul did in his letter to his son in the faith in 1 Timothy 2:1-4 "Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth." God bless!
