As a composer for Durham-based film company Keylight Studios, and co-founder of Unredacted Production, Samuel Read (Music; St Cuthbert’s Society; 2017-2020) took every opportunity available to him by the scruff of the neck! We managed to catch an interview with Read this month on the week he began his studies at the National Film and Television School: marking his transition away from undergraduate life, to that of a postgraduate.
In this episode of the DOMAP, Alumni Relations Officer George Bone and President Taylor Morse talk about - among other things - the ramification of COVID on the film industry, and the “bittersweet” feeling of working on a movie centred around the pandemic we are very much still living through. We even attempt to cause a riff between him and his studio, with Read - to our dismay - not giving in to peer pressure!
