Physical illness, difficult conversations, stressful situations…strong negative emotions are typically associated with these. How about reuniting with a loved one after en extended period of time, receiving a gift, or getting wonderful news…positive emotion, right?

Those emotions create physical sensations (chemicals released by the brain). When they’re positive, we lean in and enjoy them. But when they’re negative, we tend to resist them and make it mean something has gone wrong.

Look at it this way…do you ever spontaneously cry? NO! You have to have had a thought that triggered your you brain to tell your tear ducts to release tears. If you’ve ever resisted crying, you understand what I’m talking about. It becomes more intense, right?!?
