Description

In the first half of this interview with Dr. Jennifer Finlayson-Fife, We get to hear her share her very real and raw experience with raising her own son who is on the autism spectrum. We discuss how very important it is to put our brains to work finding our village and the extra help we need to find time for belonging to ourselves which is absolutely vital to personal peace and joy. We go on to discuss how when the personal sacrifice is too high due to lack of time spent in personal growth and development as well as taking time for self-care and rejuvenation, the consequences, not only self but life and relationships, can become detrimental. She shares with us that accepting that caring for special needs children is challenging allows us to work at finding solutions, as long as we don’t move into a place of self pity or becoming a victim to our circumstances.
