Hard things make us stronger. And we can’t get stronger if we don’t do hard things. Duh…right?
Except that we have a brain will ALWAYS offer the “easy way out” since it’s sole purpose, left in default mode, is to seek pleasure, avoid pain, and conserve energy.
So, when we change a “hard” circumstance (or try to), we take our brain, and therefore our thoughts, with us to continue to repeat old patterns, that aren’t likely serving us.
This means the answer is to change your THINKING instead of, or at least before, changing the circumstance. And when we remember that our thoughts create our emotions and the worst things that will ever happen is feeling a negative emotion, we can much easier choose to do the work of mind management, which will allow us to see that we really can get to peace and clarity in any circumstance.
