Description

We live in a world with people who have special needs…we just do! And we can all do a little better at creating a community of compassion.

On today’s episode, we interview BrieAnna Murdock, who is a Registered Behavioral Technician (and Kimberlee’s oldest child) who works with children ranging from ages 2-16 to help them overcome aversive behavior as well as teach them functional communication and life skills.

BrieAnna shares her wealth of knowledge in the world of ABA (applied behavioral analysis) therapy in an effort to provide useful tools when working with or caring for a loved one with special needs, specifically with behavioral challenges associated with autism and sensory processing disorder.

It really all boils down to understanding that someone’s brain is functioning in a different way then yours does and having compassion for what they may be struggling with, even without having to know why. Taking time to doubt what your brain offers the first time it offers it allows us to slow down and get curious, step out of judgement, and into compassion.

If you’d like more guidance and direction on this topic, Kimberlee is a certified life coach and she would love to help you gain the tools to get you through your daily challenges on your journey to CLARITY.
