Coinbase and the National Basketball Association (NBA) are teaming up on a multi-year partnership, the publicly traded crypto exchange said Tuesday. The deal extends to the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA), NBA G League, NBA 2K League and USA Basketball. This is not the first crypto exchange to partner with a sports team, Crypto.com has also partnered with the UCF for a 10 year contract. U.S.-Crypto exchange Gemini has launched its interest-bearing product for the people of Hong Kong. Gemini's Earn feature enables customers to receive up to 8.05% Annual Percentage Yield (APY), according to a press release on Tuesday. A group of U.S. lawmakers say Facebook cannot be trusted to launch a digital currency. In a Tuesday missive, U.S. Senators Brian Schatz (D-Hawaii), Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio), Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.), Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) and Tina Smith (D-Minn.) ordered Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg to “immediately discontinue the company’s pilot of Novi” and end its work on the diem stablecoin project. The ProShares Bitcoin Strategy exchange-traded fund’s (ETF) trading volume topped $1 billion on its first day, ranking the investment vehicle as one of the top ETF launches in history. As of 4:27 p.m. ET, after the close of U.S. stock markets on Tuesday, trading volume in the ProShares ETF (BITO) had reached 24.1 million shares, worth more than $1 billion based on the closing price.
