Description

We're back from a summer hiatus!

In this episode, Dustin Oldfather (CEO of the Oldfather Group of Compass RE) is joined by Jim Martin, the Director at Shepherd's Office in Georgetown, DE.  Shepherd's Office is a non-profit resource group offering aid to those who are homeless, hungry, lonely, and looking for direction in life.  Jim and his team focus on a holistic approach by "working through these barriers socially, emotionally, physically, mentally and spiritually. Not only will we deal with the social aspects of the barriers, but there will also be encouragement through Bible study and just plain, simple fellowship" (https://theshepherdsoffice.webs.com/).

In this episode, Jim shares how Shepherd's Office provides food for the hungry (home-cooked meals!), employment guidance with their Job-Readiness Program, and navigation for those affected by drug and mental health issues. Jim also talks about the importance of affordable rental housing in Sussex County.

If you or someone you know is experiencing hunger or homelessness, please reach out to Jim and his team.  The Shepherds Office is located at 408 N. Bedford St. Georgetown, DE.  19947 and offers daytime help for adults. Check out their website for weekly programs available and mealtimes, or their Facebook page for ways that you could donate or support Shepherd's Office.
