Fresh off two weeks of working, teaching and judging dance competitions on the weekends. Sometimes there's not a lot of room for a full morning routine. I go over a few things I focus on when extra busy or on the road. Ways I'm still able to check in and self care.
Typically, when I feel things aren't going my way, I can so easily use the phrase, "I just want to be happy". But, let us not confuse happiness with joy. Joy is an internal feeling that is at our core, not what we are experiencing. Reminds me of Joy in Disney's, Inside Out. We are born with joy, so we can be unhappy and joyful at the same time. We can feel less than satisfied with our external situation while still feeling joyful and secure at our core. This feeling actually challenges us to take risks and make changes in our lives when we feel unhappy, So, the next time someone asks you what you wish to cultivate or manifest in your life…don’t go after happiness. Go after joy and trust that happiness will come.
