🦃 Turkey Day is just around the corner my friends!! Food prep can be overwhelming and scary, but you will love it for these three reasons:
1. You’ll have far greater food variety.
2. You’ll reduce the stress of “what should I make?”
3. You’ll save time in the kitchen so you can spend it with loved ones!!
Food prep vs. Meal Planning:
I want you to know these often used interchangeably. BUT if you are a meal planner as in you know what you are making for dinner in the morning and do what you need before you leave so you have everything for that night. Meal prepping is super similar. You are just doing many meals at once!
My Favorite Tips on Food Prep:
* Containers! I love good glass containers and Maison jars. Or save left over containers from take out if you are on a budget!
* Set a timer for yourself each week get done what you can in that time then live your life knowing you took some time to prep yourself for success this week!
* Bust out your slow cooker!!!
* Don’t be afraid to multi task when prepping. Do It takes time to get there but it will help you accomplish more.
You don’t have to make the same thing every week. But here are some of my Favorite Food Preps:
* Cook all Bacon at once - use extra bacon fat for cooking that week.
* Overnight oats: one egg with or w/o (if you’re vegan), tbps. Of chia tbsp. Hempseeds, 1/2 cup oats, maple syrup or honey, just enough milk of choice to fill the oats.
* Precook all chicken for the week. You can have it in many different ways.
* Steam/Roast all veggies at once
* Cook entire bag of farrow or quinoas with bone broth (extra flavor and protein)
* Cook all your sweet potatoes at once
* Always have access avocados & cheese cubes
*Have Chia and Hemp seeds in your cupboard
* A good Tuna salad can be used in many ways
* Hummus & carrots are a great snack!
* Make Chia pudding
*Always have your RAW NUTS 😈 (Costco Size)
