This subject has been coming up quite a bit. When I was in theatre and starting out, I was often posed the questions, "What's your type? What makes you Unique?" Placing me in a box and then frantically searching for another box that made me appear flashier than others in the same category. I often notice we feel this pressure when introducing ourselves to others to lead with our name and immediately follow with our occupation. Our occupation shouldn't define who we are, it's just something we do, and hopefully do well. My episode intro poses the question, "Instead of living to work, let's work to live", and I mean just that. Work is not life, we work so hard to succeed at our "jobs" but my friends there is so much more to life than our work. Uniqueness is a thing we should hang onto, though it takes time to reflect on that and discover the words that describe what that uniqueness is. Today I break down a few exercises for ways to discover those words, in finding our strengths, sharing them, and owning them. I also walk us through a positive mantra that'll spark that energy in you for the rest of your week.
To add this week I was featured on Lindsay Garcia's podcast, Failing Awesomely! Check out my Episode: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/31-the-luxury-of-self-care-with-ahnastasia-albert/id1483970993?i=1000510425082
