Today we're going to talk about the idea of nostalgia and how its impact in video games, translates to you wanting to play a game later. Often I find myself wanting to go back to games, it's one of the reasons why I found the Nintendo Switch, such a valuable piece of my life. Sadly, I bought my switch, not for the Nintendo Mario games, I bought my switch for nostalgia. And it's one of those things we get, when it comes in nostalgia, the Skyrim legendary edition was a big piece of my life back in the day. I used to spend hours playing Skyrim. Skyrim was that game that never ended, but was like coming home on Christmas. It's a game that provided nostalgia for me. I played the previous games in the series with Skyrim, really hit home for me. The Elder Scrolls Oblivion was a great game too. It just isn't on Nintendo Switch, I would like to see. The Elder Scrolls, be part of Nintendo Switch, in the future. With that being said that nostalgia feeling of going back over and over, and seeing those characters, eventually it just gets set in you. That's what Skyrim did for me. It is kind of like Lord of the Rings and why do you watch that series, Lord of the Rings has some very normal characters. It's a long epic series, but you can go back to it over and over, and then find new things. When it comes into storage, you also have the aspect of new things are not necessarily always the best. For instance, you go back to an old movie, and you watch an old movie and you realize new things you did not realize when you were younger. This aspect of nostalgia is amazing, because you see it a new light. You see it in a new perspective, you did not see previously. That is why nostalgia is such an incredible concept. I don't know if from a psychology perspective. Nostalgia is really something. However, it does make me want to go back to a certain moment in time, and I make a connection with older video games, through this very act. It's why Nintendo is so successful that nostalgia approach allows them to set themselves apart and bring people back to their childhood, even if they're adults, one of the reasons why I bought a Nintendo Switch was because I wanted to be able to have it right there in a portable mode, or I could play Skyrim, at any given time. These types of things, as technology changes will allow Skyrim to be released even more. I know it sounds crazy, a game that's already been released on a lot of systems, such as Skyrim will be re released again in the future, when we go to holographic images. You may be laughing right now, but it is probably the truth.
