Jonah get's a 2nd chance from God, which is fantastic, he even follows through this time with success! However, he is not happy until he gets shade from a vine.
When the narrative was about "Jonah" then Jonah was happy, when it was about God or others repenting and being forgiven, Jonah was not happy at all.
Jonah 4:1-3
"But to Jonah this seemed very wrong, and he became angry. He prayed to the Lord, 'Isn’t this what I said, Lord, when I was still at home? That is what I tried to forestall by fleeing to Tarshish. I knew that you are a gracious and compassionate God, slow to anger and abounding in love, a God who relents from sending calamity. Now, Lord, take away my life, for it is better for me to die than to live.'"
Do we live a life like Jonah? Only happy when good things are happening to us, or are we living our life for others?
