If you have never been in a customer service role, then congratulations to you. Just know that doesn't make you better than anyone who has, it makes you more fortunate! Customer service facing roles can be some of the most degrading and unflattering careers out there. Just because someone chooses to be in a customer service position doesn't mean they don't like it, or they need something more.
