On this very special edition of the show, Matt talks with Jerry Cohen, the founder of Ebbets Field Flannels, to discuss everything about what makes a great uniform, why sports history matters, and how EFF is excelling in the midst of the pandemic.
Born in 1958, Jerry grew up in Brooklyn, NY learning about the game of baseball from his father who witnessed all-time greats play for the beloved Dodgers before switching to the New York Mets in the early 1960s. Soon, Jerry became infatuated with America's Pastime but later moved to the West Coast to kickstart his new career as a musician. It wasn't long until he started the company Ebbets Field Flannels in 1988 as a way to bring back some of his favorite uniforms from Negro League and old minor league teams before the 1970s. Since 1988, EFF has been featured in Sports Illustrated and has taken off into becoming one of the most authentic and has expanded into producing NFL jackets and utility shirts, notable soccer teams from the mid-1970s, and ball-caps that feature a wide variety of old colleges, soccer clubs, and the previously mentioned Negro League and minor league squads.
Hope you all enjoy the interview!
