While it may not be receiving the mainstream media attention you would expect, attacks on Asians have been on the rise for well over a year now. There's been a 1900% increase in incidents targeting Asian Americans in the US and lower but still significant numbers in Canada as well. Most recently, there's been a string of attacks targeting the elderly which has caused outrage and backlash from the Asian community online. Even though having uncomfortable conversations goes against how many of us were raised, we felt it was important to start a dialogue about racism, our personal experiences, and what we can do about it.
