Welcome back Elements. It's Kayla here with Episode 46: Breonna's Law. For the past 2 weeks I've been watching the murder trial of George Floyd, and I came across a news story about Kentucky Governor, Andy Beshear, signing a partial ban on no-knock warrants. This comes in a year after Breonna Taylor's death, when officers claimed to have been searching for drug dealers. Claiming to have knocked on her door, Taylor and her boyfriend thought their home was being broken into, and began defending themselves. Officers firing more than 30 shots, shooting Taylor 6 times and killing the EMT worker. Find out in the episode what that no-knock warrant actually said and what the Governor had implemented in the partial ban. Rise on Elements.
