Listen

Description

In general, (especially as young bloods), we are learning from the culture in which we’re growing up in two ways simultaneously: listening to that what somebody tells us and imitating actions. We imitate people we feel connected to – parents, grandparents, friends, cool teachers, sources of inspiration like music artists, professional sportsmen, entrepreneurs etc. and also people that genuinely appreciate, respect and encourage us.

A few minutes before I started my bike tour, I popped down at our holy street football court just to see if there are some young bloods kicking it and of course, there were at about 20 people. So, I just wanted to play one game and then start my little journey. I played and man…fortunately following situation arose from that “last game”: One boy missed the goal, the ball was about 30 meters away, he refused to go for the ball and therefore started arguing with the others on the pitch. While they were quarreling with each other about who should go for the ball, I returned the ball. When they realized that, one of them shouted: “Look! He’s about to cycle to fucking Spain and still he went for the ball!” At that moment you could literally hear the collective “click-sound” in their heads because of getting aware of how senseless this arguing shit was. And I bet, that the next time a situation like this one arises, one of them is just gonna go for the ball – just turning a tiny lesson learned into practice. It’s like when you see somebody offering an elderly person a seat in the bus – next time you’ll probably be the one doing that. In that sense, keep imitating.
