Magical Matthew is joined this week by guest Tour Guide, Laurie Harding, and together they discuss a few ways to celebrate the Disney 100 Anniversary of the Walt Disney Animation Studios. There are some events taking place around the country and we give you some insights on a few ideas. After recording, I did some brainstorming (with ChatGTP), and came up with a few more ideas for you to consider...

  1. Disney Movie Marathon: Organize a movie marathon featuring your favorite Disney films. You can watch the classics like Snow White, Cinderella, and The Lion King, or include newer releases like Frozen, Moana, or Toy Story. Decorate your viewing area with Disney-themed decorations, snacks, and costumes to make it extra special.

  2. Disney Cosplay Party: Host a Disney cosplay party where everyone dresses up as their favorite Disney characters. Encourage your guests to come dressed as princesses, princes, villains, or any beloved Disney character. You can organize costume contests, play Disney trivia games, and have a themed photo booth to capture the magical moments.

  3. Disney-Themed Decorations: Decorate your living space with Disney-themed decorations to create a festive atmosphere. Hang Disney banners, posters, and balloons, and set up tables adorned with Disney tablecloths and centerpieces. Use color schemes associated with popular Disney movies, such as blue and white for Frozen or yellow and red for Mickey Mouse.

  4. Disney-inspired Food: Prepare a menu featuring Disney-inspired dishes and treats. You can make Mickey-shaped pancakes, Disney princess cupcakes, or even create your own themed menu based on a particular movie. For example, if you're celebrating Frozen, you could serve snowflake-shaped cookies or "Olaf's Warm Hugs" hot cocoa.

  5. Disney Trivia and Games: Test your knowledge of Disney trivia with a fun game. Create a Disney trivia quiz or play Disney-themed charades. You can also have a Disney-themed scavenger hunt or organize a Disney-themed board game tournament with games like Disney Villainous or Disney Pictionary.

  6. Disney Music and Karaoke: Create a playlist of your favorite Disney songs and have a karaoke session. Sing along to popular Disney tunes and let everyone channel their inner Disney superstar. Consider using a Disney-themed karaoke machine or karaoke app to enhance the experience.

  7. Disney Crafts and DIY Projects: Get creative and make Disney-themed crafts or DIY projects. You could create Mickey Mouse ears, design custom Disney T-shirts, or make personalized Disney-themed jewelry. Look for Disney craft ideas online or visit your local craft store for inspiration.

  8. Visit a Disney Park or Resort: If you have the opportunity and means, plan a trip to one of the Disney parks or resorts to celebrate in the most immersive way possible. Check for special events or celebrations happening during the Disney anniversary year. Magical Matthew can help with this one!
