Former Miss Black USA, Selena Watkins, is a multi-hyphenated master of movement; a world-touring professional dancer, Movement Coach, Choreographer, and the CEO/Founder of the global dance fitness brand, Socanomics.
She was Queen in Beyonceβs powerful ethnic splendor and celebration of Black culture, Black is King. Selena is the first Antiguan-American to nab the title of Miss Black USA. She has danced on world tour with Nicki Minaj, and has taken the stage alongside Alison Hinds, Da Baby, Rihanna, Janelle Monae, Pharrell Williams & more.
Selena and I went to the same elementary school, and as fate would have it, our paths crossed 10 years later at Rutgers University. Now again out paths are crossing for an incredibly fun, reflective, and informative conversation about many of her DOPE experiences.
