My name is Sandahl Taylor, I am an army veterans spouse. Mom of 2 beautiful children one of which is diagnosed with odd and spmd. And in 2005 My father suffered from a heart attack that changed my life forever. In addition to moving at an awkward age from where I grew up and had friends to an area that I knew no one.To surviving a previous relationship that was filled with a partner that had Substance addiction, But was also physically and mentally abusive. Finally finding my night in camouflage armor and successfully getting through a deployment. I have spent the last 19 years being an advocate for #showusyourheart, Which is my platform in pageantry. I focus on mind, body, and soul and in addition to this I have been advocating for mental health rights for 7 years since my son's diagnosis at the age of 5. And last but not least I'm highly involved in my community. Over the past 10 years I have given free haircuts to veterans, local shelters and those and mean and I am currently trying to fund my non profit so I can even do more.
Platform:
My platform is #showusyourheart and it focus on heart health. In 2005 my father suffered a heart attack and stroke that left him paralyzed. So, in turn the past 15 years my platform has been Heart health awareness. In October of 2020 my father passed away from complications due to covid-19 and underlying heart conditions.
To honor his memory and having to stay at home , I decided to launch an ongoing social media campaign #showusyourheart. The aim is to help people all across the world reduce their risk for heart disease, by showcasing easy ways to become heart healthy.
