Wow! This is episode 50. I hope you enjoy thinking about Chapter 8 of John Eldredge's Fathered by God with me as I riff on what inspires me about the stage of a person's life called Sage, according to Eldredge. This book was very influential in my parenting and actually led to this podcast in many ways! We all want a sage and I'm inspired to endeavor to become one.
God, protect us from folly and dismissal as we enter our late 60s and beyond. Father, please protect us from the ill effects of success and safety. Help us to engage solitude, stillness, and silence so that we become sages--men and women who live out of a deep communion with you.
Also, I reference silence, solitude, and stillness. I think those 3 S-words will help us become the sages God intends as well as avoid unhealthy success and safety.
