One of the most common things people said to Vic and her family in the early days was “I really don’t know what to say…” Vic said she was acutely aware that, for once, Vic didn’t have the words, either. She read a lot and tried to absorb the advice and wisdom. Vic decided to write a book about the – mostly kind – things people said, and did, in the short period between the sudden death of her niece' death and the funeral. She has always enjoyed words and took to writing about her overwhelming experiences following the sudden death of her niece, Mary-Lou, in 2020. She came up with the working title Sixteen Days after spending a long time reflecting. Vic offers advice for anyone dealing with family, colleagues or clients who are recently bereaved.
