Self-controlled, respectable, gentle, and not quarrelsome. These are some of the qualifications found in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9 for an overseer of the church. Peter exhorted the elders to shepherd the flock of God without compulsion, shameful gain, and without being domineering in 1 Peter 5:1-4. In the hyper charismatic/NAR churches, it is sadly not uncommon to find church overseers and leaders exemplifying traits contrary to instruction in Scripture.
Join me as we take a look at Scripture regarding Godly leaders along with modern day examples in this movement.
