Description

Today we are looking at 1 Kings 18 and how the Prophet Elijah was just like us but prayed fervently for it not to rain and it didn't rain for three and a half years.

1 Kings 18:41 And Elijah said to Ahab, Go up, eat and drink, for there is the sound of abundance of rain.

He, through the Spirit, hears the SOUND of rain. Not just a sprinkle, but an abundance of rain. He hears it in his spirit before any audible sound is heard by others. I think of the thunderstorms that would roll through as I was growing up. When the rain fell, it usually was accompanied by thunder and lightning. The rain would be so loud as it hit the roof and pavement that it was almost deafening. You would not want to be caught out in those thunderstorms! It's interesting to note that on the day of Pentecost, when the Spirit was poured out, there came a SOUND like a rushing wind!

Acts 2 When the day of Pentecost ·came, they were all together in one place. 2 Suddenly a ·noise [roar] like a ·strong [violent], ·blowing [rushing] wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting.

Rain often signifies the Holy Spirit being poured out. Here in Scotland we experience a lot of rain, O that it would be as the Spirit being poured out.

If you are going through a drought today, spiritually, I pray this will refresh your soul.
