Description

Today we are looking at Ephesians 6. In Ephesus, Paul had experienced a riot there and death threats over its worship of the goddess diana. (as told in Acts 19: 21-41). He wrote this letter 10 years later, nearing the end of his life and wanted to encourage this church that he had planted. As he was chained to soldiers in Rome, he used military imagery at times. Here, he builds on the idea of armour. As he personally experienced on his various missionary travels, we are in a spiritual war. If you didn’t know that, or if you’ve forgotten, we are fighting for our very lives. But I do have good news. If you are a follower of Christ, we win!

The Armour of God

Ephesians 6:10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might.

Here are some instructions: be strong in the Lord, and the strength of His might. Right from the start, we realise that we don’t have the strength nor the might on our own! Our enemy is much stronger than us and very crafty. To fight this battle, we need help from God. He is unlimited in power and strength! He provides everything that we need at all times.
