Description

In Romans chapter 7, Paul has been going over what he wants to do, he finds himself, instead, doing the things he hates. He says that the sin within him is causing it. He calls it the conflict of two natures. The spirit and the flesh at war with each other. No matter how hard he fought to keep the law, he found himself falling short time and again. But Christ has set us free! Free from the law and sin and eternal death.

Romans 8 Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

To condemn: To pronounce judgement against; sentence; To judge or declare to be unfit for use or consumption, usually by official order: condemn an old building; To force (someone) to experience, endure, or do something: "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it" (George Santayana);  To lend credence to or provide evidence for an adverse judgement against. To accuse,  have disapproval for.

This doesn't say that we have no mistakes, or no failures, or no sins. Christians do fail, make mistakes and sin. Even some fathers of the faith failed. Abraham lied about his wife, calling her his sister, twice. David committed adultery and had her husband killed. Moses killed an Egyptian. Peter tried to kill a man and cut off his ear (his aim was bad) and denied the Lord thrice. They did face consequences because of their sins but not condemnation.
