In chapter 3 of Philippians, Paul is speaking of his pedigree. He says that if there is any chance of gaining heaven by fleshly works, he could have had a valid argument. He kept the Law, he was extremely zealous for God. But when He came to an encounter with Jesus, everything changed.
If you have never come to Christ, one encounter with the Living Christ will change you forever.

As I had mentioned a few weeks ago, businesses like Five Guys, do one thing and do it well, and they have fared well against those who try to do many things, some, poorly. The athletes who focus on one discipline do well. When you have many focuses or are striving for multiple things at once, you can be unfocussed in your objective. We can’t look forward and backward simultaneously or we’ll crash. For this new year, we have two main areas of focus as a church. We want to strengthen the local church and make disciples. We want a body of believers being raised up and released to minister in their gifts and calling.
Many times in life, we can get entangled in the cares and struggles in this life.
