Today's focus is the Breastplate of Righteousness. This is another very important piece. All the vital organs are contained here. This was historically made of metal or chains covering the neck to the waist. It was worn over the torso to protect it from injury. Bullet-proof vests are the modern descendant of the breastplate. In a spiritual sense, the breastplate would guard our heart.
Proverbs 4: 23 Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life.
The Bible says that above all guard your heart. Our physical heart is central to life. A heartbeat means that you are alive. When the Bible speaks about the heart it is really referring to the mind, will, and emotions.
