Today we are looking at the root issue.
The thing with getting rid of weeds is that although they have ugly spiny tops, their roots go down deep and need to be fully removed before you are rid of them. They have a vast root system that is hard to fully remove. The top tears away easily but without removing the root, you end up with the same ugly weed growing right back ruining your beautiful garden. This also is how things can be in our hearts if we’re not careful. The Bible says that it is the wellspring of life and to guard it above all else!
Hebrews 12:14 Pursue peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no one will see the Lord. 15 See to it that no one comes short of the grace of God; that no root of bitterness springing up causes trouble, and by it many be defiled; 16 that there be no immoral or godless person like Esau, who sold his own birthright for a single meal.
This is a heart issue that we must deal with at all costs!
