It is the 15th anniversary of the demise and resurrection of Venezuelan TV Network RCTV and we take a look on how the network bit the dust under Former President Hugo Chávez.




Let's talk about something that is turning or is about to turn 15 years old than the WGA 2007 Strike. It is the demise of a little channel that could that was struck down by a president, more like a dictator who took the power of the TV airwaves in Venezuela and did it the way he wanted to. Enter RCTV.




I'm not going to dwell on the information about the channel, but let's just say that Former President Hugo Chavez did not like the conspiracy that the Network did to the sitting president in the year 2007 and wanted to kill off the Network completely to create a coup-free one, Called TVes.




It struck a nerve because they defied the president then and claimed they did nothing wrong.




Time and time again, He did not like how RCTV portrayed him.




So he set a definitive date of May 28, 2007, to kill the Network and gave them that exact time to dot their Ps and Qs.




CORRECTION: I understood that 53 years was a little too far-fetched, so I'll say it, 54 years, but my estimates were almost right.
