You are listening to the Economics Minute and I am Waldo Krugell

I was at the Bureau of Economic Research's conference yesterday and would like to share some of the interesting things we heard there. The Bureau is quite positive about economic prospects for next year. They predict 2.2% economic growth in 2025 and base the optimism on a number of positive developments that are now underway, such as improved consumer and business confidence, lower inflation and a stronger rand. They also discussed a sudden start scenario for if everything goes really well.
