A HIGHER LIFE IN GOD
Tuesday 13th December 2022
Genesis 17:1-2 When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am [a]Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless. And I will make My covenant between Me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly.”
Abraham went through different phases of transformation as he walked with God. Everything we see in His life didn't happen overnight but as he journeyed with God, he began to feel and discern the heartbeat of God.
The more you journey with God, the better you begin to sense, see and know the things He doesn't like and this is where God is calling us to as a body.
You may have all the right and good postures before men but what do you do behind closed doors, when the cameras are turned off and the only audience you have is God?
John 21:18 Most assuredly, I say to you, when you were younger, you girded yourself and walked where you wished; but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will gird you and carry you where you do not wish.”
Jesus revealed it to Peter, when he was young he could do certain things but as he grew old, it was no longer what he loved but what is expected of him.
For how long will you keep in the place of compromise? It is time to cast away childishness and let in maturity 1 Corinthians 13:11.
So much as God is merciful, you need to allow the blood of Jesus and the Holy Spirit to do their work in your life to help you live a life that glorifies and honor God.
Genesis 32:22-24, 28
22 And he arose that night and took his two wives, his two female servants, and his eleven sons, and crossed over the ford of Jabbok. 23 He took them, sent them over the brook, and sent over what he had. 24 Then Jacob was left alone; and a Man wrestled with him until the breaking of day.
28 And He said, “Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but [d]Israel; for you have struggled with God and with men, and have prevailed.”
Do not be Like Jacob, who wrestled with God till the daybreak. You must let go of things which have stopped you from possessing your inheritance and experiencing a higher life in God.
Abraham arrived a higher life in God where he knew he owned nothing, not even his only son. He reached a place where all that he was and has was God's. (Genesis 22:1-19)
Even as you continue to journey this journey of faith, do not harden your heart, allow the Holy Spirit to be who He ought to be in your life, and let Him carry you to a higher life in God.
