ABIDING IN GOD'S PRESENCE
Tuesday 26th July 2022
Exodus 25:8 (NLT) "I want the people of Israel to build me a sacred residence where I can live among them.
God commanded Moses to build for Him a tabernacle of meeting and whoever wanted to meet Him beyond the ordinary would get out of their tent and go to that place.
These (children of Israel) were people who lived under a pillar of fire by night and a pillar of cloud by day (Exodus 13:21-22). There was a general presence of God that was sitting over their camp.
1 John 3:2 Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.
The abiding experience of the Holy Spirit is abound by everyone who is born again but that's just an introduction to the fellowship. The more we look at Him, the more His abiding presence begins to gain dominion over our soul structure making us to look like Jesus in our words, actions and thoughts.
That's why we should never be satisfied by the initial experience of the abiding presence of the Holy Spirit which is the foundation. We can take this dimension of fellowship to a level where we become careers of the tangible presence of God that when we walk into a place, there is an atmosphere we bring Into that place.
Exodus 33:9-10 And it came to pass, when Moses entered the tabernacle, that the pillar of cloud descended and stood at the door of the tabernacle, and the Lord talked with Moses.
The experience of the glory resting on the tabernacle is superior to the fire that was resting upon the children of Israel during the night. Moses took the relationship of the experience to another level.
Exodus 33:11 So the Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. And he would return to the camp, but his servant Joshua the son of Nun, a young man, did not depart from the tabernacle.
If there is a place we need to dwell in, we need to locate the very presence of God and stay there.
It's not coincidence that Moses anointed Joshua to take their inheritance. It takes a man/woman who is a career of glory to take a generation into their inheritance.
That was the difference between Joshua and other children of Israel. He discovered early enough that the secret which Moses had was the presence of God; so whenever Moses went, he also went.
Read Exodus 24:12-17
There are three levels of fellowship a man can experience in God (low level, middle level, and top-level). It's you who determines how far you want to go depending on your level of commitment and consecration.
When a man is hungry and thirsty, he doesn't need an invitation. God told Moses that he alone should come but Joshua did not let go (Exodus 24:13, Mark 2:3-5).
Acts 10:1-4 There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of what was called the Italian Regiment, a devout man and one who feared God with all his household, who gave alms generously to the people, and prayed to God always ....And when he observed him, he was afraid, and said, “What is it, lord?” So he said to him, “Your prayers and your alms have come up for a memorial before God.
Wherever the heavens turned, they could see Cornelius' hunger and thirst for God. He set an environment which was irresistible for the Holy Spirit to break the religious spirit than Peter had (Acts 10:5-34).
There is always another level. Never get to a place in your walk with God where you feel you have arrived.
Psalms 42:1-2 As the deer pants for the water brooks, So pants my soul for You, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God....
That longing must grow everyday. Don't settle at the lowest level like the millions of people or at the middle like the elders, have the Joshua attitude and go with Moses.
STAY BLESSED AND HIGHLY FAVORED, WE LOVE YOU. PASTOR BEN OCHOLA.!
