BEYOND THE ORDINARY THIRST

Wednesday 24th May 2023 mid week service

2 Timothy 4:9-16 Be diligent to come to me quickly; for Demas has forsaken me, having loved this present world, and has departed for Thessalonica—Crescens for Galatia, Titus for Dalmatia...

Demas was an apostle that walked with God but in the end, he deserted Him for the love of the world.

Please, don't play with your salvation. The life He gave you is the most precious thing you have for you can have anything else in this world without Jesus.

Everything you see came from Jesus.

Do not give in to the deception of Lucifer and run after the worldly things.

Acts 4:34-35 Nor was there anyone among them who lacked; for all who were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of the things that were sold, and laid [them] at the apostles' feet; and they distributed to each as anyone had need.

Jesus has to be the primary pursuit in your life. The worldly things have to be placed at your feet, not in your hands.

Your hands are for touching people.

When your hands are full of stuff, something has gone wrong.

Good is not always God.

That's why we must cry to God to let His will be done in our lives

Exodus 33:2-3... [Go up] to a land flowing with milk and honey; for I will not go up in your midst, lest I consume you on the way, for you [are] a stiff-necked people.

God can bless you with everything in this world but without Himself.

Don't run after men simply because of the results they have, results are not proof of God's presence.

Exodus 33:4 And when the people heard this bad news, they mourned, and no one put on his ornaments.

Our bad news is different these days. Can you mourn because you do not feel Jesus even if you have things?

Exodus 33:5 For the LORD had said to Moses, "Say to the children of Israel, 'You [are] a stiff-necked people. I could come up into your midst in one moment and consume you. Now therefore, take off your ornaments, that I may know what to do to you.'

The children of Israel were mourning but they still had their ornaments on. If your prayers, fasting, crying, singing, etcetera are real, you have to take your ornaments off.

Exodus 33:6 So the children of Israel stripped themselves of their ornaments by Mount Horeb.

It was not God who stripped them off, it was the children of Israel themselves.

God has been calling us into deeper fellowship but if we can not be deliberate to enter there, we can never get there. There are 'ornaments' we must strip off of ourselves if we are to enter there.

Read Exodus 33:7-11

Moses showed them what to do. There is a journey you have to make in the spirit. You must go outside the camp to meet Jesus.( Exodus 33:7)

The pillar of the cloud was not low, it was up. There is a place you enter and God comes. What was far, came near. ( Exodus 33:8-10)

Of the entire population of 2.5m only the young man Joshua responded to the call. ( Exodus 33:11)

When did Joshua go to the Tabernacle of meeting? He went there before Moses. He distinguished himself radically that even when Moses left, he stayed there. How hungry and thirsty are you?

Isaiah 55:1 "Ho! Everyone who thirsts, Come to the waters; And you who have no money, Come, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk Without money and without price.

Your "money" can buy you anything but not a certain degree of thirst and hunger.

Your hunger and thirst will covenant you with the sure mercies of David that can never fail.

There's a dimension of hunger and thirst you reach and start commanding results to nations.

A day will come when the Lord will not be near. God moves in cycles, don't take what you have today for granted. ( Isaiah 55:1-6)

STAY BLESSED AND HIGHLY FAVORED, WE LOVE YOU. PASTOR BEN OCHOLA!
