BROKENNESS AND CONTRITION OF HEART

Wednesday 25th May 2022

Ezekiel 44:18...; they shall not clothe themselves with anything that causes sweat.

The priest in the old testament was not permitted to sweat. Sweat is a sign of exhaustion and use of natural strength.

God wanted us to be submitted and surrendered to Him so that we don't spend energy ( Isaiah 40:31).

Matthew 4:1 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness......

After Jesus had received the Holy Spirit He yielded Himself and was led by the Holy Spirit.

You can never be led unless you are yielded, become weak, and don't stick to your agenda etc.

Matthew 16:24.., "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.

The cross speaks of a surrendered life where you tell the Holy Spirit; lead me, guide me, direct me, speak to me.

It brings you to a point in life where you even don't trust in yourself but only in Him.

Philippians 3:7-8...Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ

Paul having listed all his advantages in the flesh, concludes by saying that he counts them as rubbish.

If we want to see a greater dimension of God manifested in our lives, we must wrap up our flesh and cast it down.

2 Corinthians 12:7-10 And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure.

Affliction ( thorn) in Paul reduced him to a place of weakness and brokenness.

John 4:34 Jesus said to them, "My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.

Our role is to allow the will of the Master to superimpose ours if we are to attract His help.

Psalms 63:1-2 O God, You [are] my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You In a dry and thirsty land Where there is no water. So I have looked for You in the sanctuary, To see Your power and Your glory.

David yielded Himself to God to attract His help.

Even as you continue seeking the Master, may you come to a place of complete brokenness, contrition, and total abandonment and look at the Master for His help.

STAY BLESSED AND HIGHLY FAVORED,  WE LOVE YOU. PASTOR BEN OCHOLA.
