CORRECT PRAYER POSTURE

Monday 20th June 2022

One thing I desire is that we (sons of God) develop a sensitivity to His presence because discerning His presence is the key factor in having an advantage in this life.

Isaiah 40:31 (NIV) ... They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

The eagle is a bird that God designed to sense the current of wind. When the right current sets in, it spreads its wings and is carried by the wind. It uses minimum effort to get maximum output.

As a child of God, there comes a time in your walk with Him where you don't attribute anything to yourself.

Isaiah 51:2 (NIV) look to Abraham, your father, and to Sarah, who gave you birth. When I called him he was only one man, and I blessed him and made him many.

There was no way Abraham and Sarah could attribute the arrival of Isaac to their natural abilities. It was the Lord who came strong upon them for Isaac to come forth.

The place of prayer is not a place of showing off strength, power, talents, or how big you are, etc. You come to present your littleness, smallness, weaknesses, incapabilities, inabilities, or nothingness. Praying from this point is what helps you to attract the help of heaven.

Prayer is not for the strong, powerful, and mighty people. It is for the weak, little ones, and nobodies, who know that if God doesn't help them, they are COMPLETELY NOTHING.

Luke 18:9-10 Also He spoke this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: "Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.

Luke 18:11-12 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, 'God, I thank You that I am not like other men—extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax collector. I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I possess.'

Luke 18:13-14 And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as RAISE [HIS] EYES TO HEAVEN, but beat his breast, saying, 'God, be merciful to me a sinner!' I tell you, this man went down to his house justified [rather] than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted."

The one who boasted with his spiritual CV and pedigree went back without an answer while the one who cried for mercy showing how helpless he was went home justified.

This is the mindset and attitude we have to carry if we are to download the virtues of God in our midst. Exodus 33:15

Psalms 61:1-2 Hear my cry, O God; Attend to my prayer. From the end of the earth I will cry to You, When my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

David was asking the Holy Spirit to lead him to a rock that is higher than him.

This is the mindset we carry in prayer,

We pray and seek the Master, not from a place of pride, arrogance, and completeness but because we are broken men. This is what causes us to receive answers in our lives.
