DOING GOOD AGAINST ALL ODDS

Monday 17TH September 2022

2 Timothy 3:1 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come:...

We live in a world that is descending into depths of wickedness and decadence as we have never known.

Most people have become indifferent to men's evil, violence, and, pain that they have adjusted and accommodated their suffering and oppression. Their hearts are getting more callous and hardened towards humanity indicating that Jesus is about to show up.

Isaiah 60:2 For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the LORD will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you.

In the Kingdom, we must reflect the very life of our Father by modeling a lifestyle that when men look at us, they will glorify our Father. ( Matthew 5:16 )

Galatians 6:9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.

As wickedness increases, people tend to get weary of doing good and sometimes want to pay back butwhat do you do as a child of God when all you're bringing forward is good and what is being brought back into your life is evil?

Even when you are doing good and what you are receiving back is evil, betrayal, lack of gratitude etc, do not stop doing good because much as we are humans, we have to be like our Father in heaven ( Matthew 5:43-48 ).

Is it a home setting, friendship, whatever it is, we are called to do good not to be good because we are good people. The day we surrendered our life to Jesus, our Father took residence in our hearts and now we have to perform like Him.

Ephesians 5:8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light

Each one of us who belongs to light is called unto good works. Those that have dropped it, pick up, don't stop doing good 1 Thessalonians 5:5

Consider how God has been gracious to us, even when we are unfaithful, He remains faithful, so let us allow the life of God to control our conduct and direct our response 2 Timothy 2:13.

Matthew 10:25 It is enough for a disciple that he be like his teacher and a servant like his master. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more will they call those of his household!

People will use, misuse, and take an advantage of you just as they did to Jesus. The very people whose eyes, and ears He opened, the dead He raised, the sick He healed, etc were the very ones who said, "crucify Him!.

Man in his nature when he is in need will project humility and brokenness until he gets what he wants and turns his back. If you don't have the heart of the Father, then you will revenge.

We must arm ourselves with this mindset that we are not going to be controlled by men's actions. This is how we become salt and light in that environment  (Matthew 5:13-14)

Remember on the cross Christ looked at those he healed, raised, opened ears, eyes, etc, it was painful but He said, "FATHER FORGIVE THEM." That is how the Lord needs to fill our hearts; a heart that will say: forgive them; whether they know what they are doing or not.

Let us keep doing good because that is our nature. No matter what evil comes to us, let us cling to doing good.
