FRUITFULNESS _ GOD'S DESIRE

Sunday 2nd October 2022- first service

John 15:1-2 “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.

God's desire for man is to bear fruit and not only fruit but much more fruit. He doesn't believe in stagnation but wants us to get better and better.

Our standard is Jesus. That's why every time you rate yourself, you do it based on what God has called you to do and not fellow men (2 Corinthians 13:5).

John 15:4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.

Your fruit life is what helps people to know you because that is what men feed on and you can never bear fruits unless you abide/you are in Jesus.

Most of us have come into this relationship by confession but have failed to build fellowship/communion. Jesus had twelve disciples but He divided them based on the way he related with them; the twelve, three (John, James, and Peter) and then one (John) out of the three.

God's love doesn't discriminate, but how you respond determines your relationship. Each of those disciples had to work out their relationship (James 4:8, John 13:25-26).

John 15:5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.

For whatever activity you engage in, if it's not rooted in Jesus, it's nothing. That's why there are a lot of fakes because men are not willing to sit down and pay the price to get the original (Matthew 7:20).

The book has already been written of you, but you must have communion and fellowship with Jesus to bring forth what has been written of you. (Hebrews 10:7).

John 15:7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.

When we allow the Word of God to govern and control our life, speech, thoughts, etc., we shall be better wives, husbands, employees, etc. That's what it means to abide in the Word (Matthew 23:3).

Psalms 1:1-2 Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night.

As long as a mango tree is connected to the ground, it will bear much fruit. Likewise, God created an environment (the Word) to sustain you and me in that we die when we isolate ourselves from it.

John 15:8 By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.

The Christian life that God has called us to do is not hard because the more you meditate on the Word, the more it grows and takes over your life (Acts 19:20, Joshua 1:8). That's how we become fruitful.

There is a place in your walk with God where everything you touch prospers but that depends on your being connected to the Word because you are only as strong and wise as the Word you have inside you (Psalms 1:3).
