HEARTFELT PRAYER
Monday 29th August 2022

Every time you come to the presence of God, you don't bring words but your heart because prayer is not what you say but it is who you are.

The sum of your heart is what makes up prayer. That is why your walk, lifestyle, mannerism, and words all play a big role in how effective your prayer can be.

James 5:17 (AMPC) Elijah was a human being with a nature such as we have [with feelings, affections, and a constitution like ours]; and he prayed earnestly for it not to rain, and no rain fell on the earth for three years and six months. [I Kings 17:1.]

Elijah was a man who was subjected to the same weaknesses like us but he defied these weaknesses to model a lifestyle of prayer. So our weaknesses can never be an excuse to stop us from praying the way God wants us to pray.

When a man partners with God in prayer (means of grace to access dimensions in God), He can do great things for the Master, with Him and Him through us that the world has never seen depending on the ground on which prayers are flowing from.

James 5:16 ( AMPC) .... pray [also] for one another, that you may be healed and restored [to a spiritual tone of mind and heart]. The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].

The Bible points us to Elijah when it comes to prayer. Through prayer, one man influenced an entire nation not because he was special but because he engaged in heartfelt prayer. How about you and me who have got the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit?

One thing we need to know is that he was obsessed with the will of God. If we are to see results on the platform of prayer, the will of God has to be at the center of our hearts.

We must be consumed with the will of the Father if we want to see many results in our prayers.

Luke 22:42-43 saying, "Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done." Then an angel appeared to Him from heaven, strengthening Him.

The moment Jesus yielded to the will of the Father, strength was imparted into Him and He prayed the more.

The moment you align yourself with the will of God, there is an impartation that comes on upon your life that will carry you to where you have never been before.

The Holy Spirit only empowers you in the direction of the will of God so that the will of God becomes the agenda of your prayer.

Matthew 6:10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as [it is] in heaven.

The moment God's kingdom comes and His will is done, the rest of the things you need to fulfill destiny follow you.

Yielding to the will of God is key number one to effective prayer.

That is why it is very important to pray in tongues because he who prays in tongues prays the will of God and every time we insist on the will of God, we lock the voice of God and can't hear Him.

John 5:30 I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me.

When our interest is in something else, it is very difficult to discern the voice of God. That is why surrender is very important.

Winning in this kingdom is based on surrendering (John 10:27-28) and surrendering is in degrees, it goes deeper and deeper (dying).

Isaiah 55:8 " For My thoughts [are] not your thoughts, Nor [are] your ways My ways," says the LORD.

There are diverse ways God will bring His blessings into your life. So when we come to the place of prayer, let us not restrict God but unlock all gates and tell God to do it His way.

God can heal you supernaturally, through medicine, etc . He will choose the means of doing it but finally, He will bring the healing. So we should not stick to one way of doing things (religious practices) but allow God to choose His way.

You can choose your way (will) but when the Holy Spirit is not in it, it becomes religion, and lacks life in it.

If you don't feel
