LEANING ON THE HOLY SPIRIT
Wednesday 20th April 2022
Acts 17:28 for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your poets have said, 'For we are also His offspring.'
There is a place you reach in Jesus where you lose any sense of confidence in anything of the flesh and become so vulnerable to the Holy Spirit.
When a little kid who is attached to the mother gets up from sleep and all she sees are strangers and the mother is not there, she will begin to cry and become restless so is the life without inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
You cannot settle for anything canal, you become restless and you are afraid to do anything without Him.
So your dependency on the Holy Spirit is no longer a word or a head experience but it is heart-linked.
Exodus 33:15 Then he said to Him, "If Your Presence does not go [with us,] do not bring us up from here.
The presence of God (the angel of the Holy Spirit) is our confidence in all our dealings.
1 Samuel 2:9 ... "For by strength, no man shall prevail.
The flesh is limited, we pray, seek, and call on the name of God because it's the only way we can express our vulnerability to Him.
It is the Holy Spirit that gives life meaning. So no matter the status or title you hold you keep depending on Him for everything you are to engage in.
In Him, there is satisfaction, fulfillment, joy, peace, etc.
Numbers 12:3 (Now the man Moses [was] very humble, more than all men who [were] on the face of the earth.)
Moses wasn't moved by what he did but found rest, fulfillment, satisfaction, peace and joy in the presence of God.
So going down on our knees in prayers and fasting ceases to be a duty, performance, religious ritual, but a matter of life and death.
John 4:1-21 ...Then the woman of Samaria said to Him, "How is it that You, being a Jew, ask a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?" For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans....
The Samaritan woman drank from the well of Jacob and could change husbands, worship, knew the word, quote scriptures but was drinking from a well that was not changing her life.
May be you could be like that. You need to get tired of the shadows and cry for a touch of reality.
John 4:10 Jesus answered and said to her, "If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, 'Give Me a drink,' you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water."
She was so religious that she was with the one whom she was worshiping but couldn't identify Him.
May God deliver us from the shadows of religious practices that we can't see and hear the one we seek.
John 4:15 The woman said to Him, "Sir, give me this water, that I may not thirst, nor come here to draw."
She cried, dropped her pot and discerned the living waters. So she drank from it and her life and entire city were changed.
John 7:37-39 On the last day, that great [day] of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, "If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink....
It is until you press a demand upon the Holy Spirit that He comes and intervenes.
Tonight I pray that you may drop your pot, religion, pride, experience, everything else, and arrive in a place of vulnerability before God.
As you continue to seek the face of the master, may you wholeheartedly keep depending on the Holy Spirit.
STAY BLESSED AND HIGHLY FAVOURED, WE LOVE YOU. PASTOR BEN OCHOLA.
